We provide high quality individualised support to help students reach their full potential.
We recognise that any individual may need additional assistance with their learning at any time during their school career and consequently review our provision and student needs in line with the school assessment schedule.
We operate an ASSESS – PLAN – DO – REVIEW model that actively encourages participation of students and parents/carers in the decisions we make regarding individual students.
All of our staff have access to high quality training and support to ensure they are able to meet the needs of all our individual students.
The department has specialist teachers in Literacy and Numeracy who provide 1:1 and small group sessions to support your child. Our experienced team of Teaching Assistants support in class to enable all students have access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
Our unique meta-cognitive mentoring programme empowers our students motivating them and engaging them in making positive decisions about their education and future aspirations.

The Learning Laboratory provides a space for all students to work in a quiet supportive environment.
Based in the Learning Support base it offers ICT access; a quiet individual study space; areas for small group work and a range of resources to support and encourage independent learning. Students may use the Laboratory with the agreement of their classroom teacher or at break, lunch times or after school to complete homework.
